Flower Basket Shawl-Progress #3

Now, I have complete 28 flowers patterns along the top edged. It is now difficult to take a full picture for I don't want to to spread it out by using a thread thru all stitches. Also, it is difficult to put them back to the knitting needles. It is about 40" at the top length.. That means I have to knit at least 10 more flowers pattern to get about 60" after blocking.

Flower Basket Shawl-Progress #2

See, 8 patterns are repeat. The top width is roughly measured by 28". That mean I have to knit nearly one more double to get about 60" width after blocking. Orginally, I use 4mm needle to knit, but the result is too loose and flag. I change to 3.75mm needle to get this outcome. It is very nice and the yarn is so soft and warm. After knitting day and night, my hands feel tire so I think I have to take a little bit of rest.

The vest is finished. I knit as quickly as I can for I can't stop thinking the flower basket shawls. The pattern of this vest is nice that I really love it.

Now, I can start the flower basket shawls. Will post the picture when I have progress on it. Wait and see.

No Title

With stash of my last post, I have completed the back of my vest. The pattern used for this colourway yarn is quite good. This is the pattern of the purple colourway scarf. I just repeat the lace pattern and like it very much.

I have bought this thin bright blue yarn for the Flower Basket shawls which I have planned for a long time. The colour cannot be fairly reflected after pictured. At Hong Kong, it is very hard to find this lace-weight yarn. The yarn shop owner said that there is no body to knit this thin yarn nowadays, only can find as fine as 4-ply yarn. The yarn ball is 50g in weight with 370 meters long, 35 stitches to get 10cm. On the label, it suggest to use 2.75mm needle, but I have to check and test it for the shawl.

I will start to knit this lace shawls after finished my vest for I don't want to start many things at one time. I know that if I start the lace shawls, I will left my vest behind and don't when to pick it up again.

Stash

Ma's hat is finished. To shape the crown, I have ripped the crown several times in order to fit Ma's head.

This is the yarn that my Ma's ripped my other vest I have knitted many years ago. The yarn is thick and the colour is a little of dark. It always a headache problem to search a pattern to suit the yarn to knit a vest.

Ma's Hat

There is some yarn left after knitted my ma's cardigan. She asks me to knit a hat for her as pictured. This is a free pattern given along my purchased shawls and scarves book at Nov 2005. I usually crochet the hat for this is much easier and this is my first time to knit a hat. This is a good chance for me to practice my skill.

I have a wish in my mind, that is to knit a lace shawls with lace weight yarn. I always worry that it is hard for me and cannot finish it. When I read through some lace shawls patterns, some require high level of knitting experience. Still work hard to search some simpler and easier one.

Finished

Finally, Ma's cardigan is finished. I have ripped the neck area twice for it is too loose for my mother. I will give it to her on today and she will put the buttons by herself. For she has a collection of buttons which are come from the torn clothing. She picks up the buttons before thrown the torn clothing away. So clever she is.

Now, Spring is coming, new knitting books are published. It is time for us to search and buy them. The new Rowan book #39 is very attractive. I have to find out which on-line shop can give a cheaper price to order.
